Conspiracy Theory

I’ve never believed in conspiracy theories, but something is fishy. Why all the sudden interest in our airport project from national (liberal?) media outlets like NPR and The New York Times? And why all the activity from Friends of PFN, a recreational pilot group that had been very quiet for quite a while.

Could this be the NRDC at work? Are they spoon feeding national reporters their factually incorrect talking points? Are they acting as a puppeteer, talking to locals through Friends of PFN?

The NRDC appears to be mounting a media campaign in advance of the lawsuit they have threatened against airport relocation. Expect to see a lot more of their misrepresentations and false attacks in the weeks ahead.

But if a battle is shaping up pitting local business people and environmentalists against outside groups like the NRDC, NPR and The New York Times, then so be it. Too many people in our community have worked too long and hard on the West Bay Sector Plan and airport relocation to back down now.

Besides, you know what they say: Out-of-town, out-of-touch.
