PCB Chamber Getting Hundreds of Inquiries a Week About New Airport

At the Greater Panama City Beaches Chamber of Commerce’s “Friday at the Beach” event on March 9, Chamber President Debi Knight said her office is getting between 250 and 300 inquiries a week about the airport relocation project.

Knight said that a year ago her office was only getting 25 to 30 inquiries a week.

Based on the level of interest she’s seeing, Knight said the Chamber expects hundreds of new companies, including a number of high tech companies, to move to the county when the new airport opens.

I know there are a lot of naysayers – people who don’t think a new airport will attract jobs – but the evidence is mounting that it will. As we get closer to groundbreaking, I believe prospects will begin to firm up.

At the end of the day, we’re going to be able to offer something few other locations can – the ability to build or expand a business at a greenfield airport site.
